The second Indo-Japan Finance dialogue held in Tokyo on 6th September 2024. Mr. Atsushi Mimura, Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs, Japan, and Mr. Ajay Seth, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, India discussed about promoting financial cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations.
The Japanese delegation comprised representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Financial Services Agency. On the Indian side, participants included representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Reserve Bank of India, the Securities and Exchange Board of India, the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India, and the International Financial Services Centres Authority.
Both parties exchanged their views on the macroeconomic situation of both the countries. They also discussed scopes for cooperation in third countries, bilateral cooperation and international issues. The participants also shared views on financial sector issues, regulation, supervision, financial digitization and other policy initiatives in both the countries. Both sides agreed to continue discussions to further promote financial cooperation and bilateral relations.
India and Japan were exploring the prospects to hold the next round of talks in New Delhi.
